Westmount has been a very popular neighbourhood in southwest London since the 1960's.
With its large 2-storey homes, Westmount has traditionally been a favorite area for executives and professionals and their families. It's a short commute to downtown London and easily accessible to Highway 401. Westmount offers great schools and plenty of nearby shopping at Westmount Mall as well as the newer big-box retail stores on Wonderland Road South.
Detached homes are typically about 35 years old and range in price from about $200,000 to $350,000. Many of the homes in Westmount were built by Sifton, one of London's largest and oldest homebuilders. You can also find newer subdivisions in south Westmount as well as higher-priced homes in the area called Rosecliffe (northwest quadrant of Commissioners and Wonderland).
Norton Estates is a neighbourhood adjacent to Westmount (between Wonderland and Wharncliffe). Homes in Norton Estates are generally a little smaller and more affordable.
There are several condominium developments in the Westmount area including mid-range priced townhomes (both newer and older) as well as high-rise condos on Wonderland Road.
Westmount... another great London neighbourhood.
